The cumulative growth rate from January to December in 2019 was - 0.1%, down 0.3 percentage points.

From January to July 2020, the sales area of commercial housing was 836.31 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 5.8%, and the decline rate was 2.6 percentage points narrower than that of January June. Among them, the sales area of residential buildings decreased by 5.0%, the sales area of office buildings decreased by 21.8%, and the sales area of commercial and business buildings decreased by 18.8%. The sales volume of commercial housing was 8142.2 billion yuan, down 2.1%, 3.3 percentage points lower than that from January to June. Among them, the sales of residential buildings increased by 0.4%, the sales of office buildings decreased by 22.2%, and the sales of commercial buildings decreased by 22.3%.

Under the direct influence of the national real estate market, the national building materials and home furnishing market will maintain the mainstream trend of "overall stability and small fluctuation" in 2019, but the market does not show a unilateral sharp rise, and the overall development remains low and stable.

In 2019, the cumulative sales volume of building materials and home furnishing stores above Designated Size in China will be RMB 1005.71 billion, up 4.1% year on year. In September 2020, the sales volume of building materials and home furnishing stores above Designated Size in China will reach 86.570 billion yuan, up 14.99% month on month and 11.79% lower than the same period last year. From January to September in 2020, the accumulated sales volume was 501.982 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 30.78%.

Industry prosperity index increased

The national building materials and home furnishing prosperity index (BHI) jointly released by the Department of circulation industry development of the Ministry of Commerce and the China Building Materials Circulation Association. In September 2020, the national building materials and home furnishing prosperity index (BHI) was 108.26, with a month on month increase of 6.33 points and a year-on-year decrease of 2.28 points.
